  • It is illegal for anyone to begin or maintain any business dealing with drugs / cosmetics or medicines in India without having a proper license has been obtained from the authorized authority.

    • The most recent rules and regulations regarding the licensing.
    • Update on the drugs listed in the list of drugs for that licenses aren’t available.

  2. On the following page, please click”Apply Online” on this page “Apply Online” tab located on the left of the screen. This will take you to the next page.
  3. Use the login credentials, then click on the “Login” button to sign in.
    1. If you’re a new user, then click the “CLICK HERE to REGISTER” option to sign-up and then log in.
  4. The applicant must follow the instructions to fill in the personal details, the details of the person in charge as well as the address of the premises, uploading required documents and making the payment by uploading required information.
  5. The applicant will receive an acknowledgement of the application online submitted successfully. Please save it to use in the future.
  6. The application will be further processed.
  7. The applicant is notified of update to the process.
  8. Drug inspectors will visit the premises to confirm the authenticity.
  9. When the inspection is complete the person who is competent will be required to show up to an interview.
  10. Once all the above processes is completed, the drug control will issue a drug license.
  11. The applicant must download or get the certificate in person or by mail the certificate when appropriate.

Note:

The fee to obtain the license is accepted in various formats, such as challan/cheque depending on the circumstances. Candidates are advised to make the time to consult with the drug licensing authority in your region to establish the fee requirements.

  • MOA & AOA or Partnership deed or LLP agreement
  • Pan card
  • Aadhar card
  • Age evident
  • Checks that have been cancelled (for the bank account details requirement)
  • Directors’ list
  • ID and proof of address for director
  • Photograph of passport size
  • Resolution of the Board on letterhead
  • Affidavit of directors
  • The sale deed document for the property
  • If rented, a registered rent agreement
  • A NOC from the owner
  • Key plan of the architect attested by the architect and site plan

  • Document requirement from a person who is competent
    • Bio data as per proforma
    • Letter of appointment from a person who is competent
    • The proof of qualification
    • Certificate of experience

  • The above mentioned documents must be taken in their original, attested copies (to be presented) when applying.

Eligibility

  • Any person/company/partnership firm/LLP can apply for drug license
  • A qualified (registered pharmacist of the state pharmacy council of the state pharmacy) person with experience should apply

Validity

  • Valid for a period of 3 years

The license must be prominently displayed in the place of business during working hours.

  • A drug license is required to sell/distribute/store medicine. The license can be obtained through the any appropriate government department.
