How do I apply for Chinese Government Scholarships
Application Method and Time to Apply
- The application period for international students under the Chinese Government Scholarship Programs usually runs from January 1st until the final day of April. Information on the application process is determined through consultation among Chinese diplomatic missions as well as the authorities responsible for the applicant country of origin. Scholarship Application

Language of Instruction
The Chinese institutions of higher education typically use Chinese as the primary language for instruction. Candidates who have no knowledge of Chinese are typically required to be enrolled in Chinese language classes for about 2 to 3 years prior to beginning their main studies. In certain institutions, courses for senior visiting scholars and postgraduate students may be offered in English. Documents Required Student Government Scholarships
The applicants need to complete and submit the following documents in a true and accurately.
- Application For the Chinese Government Scholarship (printed by CSC). A photocopy and an original in Chinese or English
- Notarized highest diploma photocopy. If applicants are students at universities or are already employed, they should be able to provide proof that they are university students or employees on-post. Documents that are not in the languages of Chinese or English should be accompanied by Chinese as well as English translations.
- Students applying for undergraduate studies need to be able to provide a notarized copy transcripts from high school. Candidates for other categories have to submit appropriate transcripts that have been notarized. Transcripts written in languages other than Chinese or English are required to be submitted with Chinese as well as English translations.
- A research plan or study that is written in Chinese (or English (no more than 200 terms for students, not more than 400 for scholars visiting, and no more than 500 terms for postgraduates).
- Candidates to pursue Master’s and Doctoral degree studies as well as Senior Visiting Scholars have to send two letters recommendation written in Chinese or English from associate or professors. professors. What Are All The Eligibility
- Candidates must be non-Chinese citizens healthy and in good health.
- Age limits and qualifications for education:
- Candidates for Undergraduate studies should have graduated from high school with good grades and not be over the age of 25.
- Candidates for master’s degree programs must hold a Bachelor’s Degree and must be under the 35 years old.
- The applicants for Doctoral degree programs are required to hold a Master’s Degree and must be less than 40.
