  2. Look for your local RYA Training Centre and make an appointment for the test.
  3. Complete the application form with other documents required. Please refer to the “Required Papers” section.
  4. The Tester will then have to sign the form and return the form along with a copy of your photo and proof of residency and the form will be processed by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) in the UK.
  5. The ICC Certificate is delivered direct to the email address listed on the form.

What Are All The Eligibility

  • All residents and citizens from Australia can apply to an ICC as are tourists from many countries overseas. There is an exception for a tourist who is a resident of one of the following countries (unless residents of Australia): Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland

Fees

  • Current RYA Members – free of cost
    • Speed Track cost Members who are already members (if necessary) Cost: $15 for members with standard membership Gold members: $10
  • Non-Members $43
    • The cost of fast track for non-members Cost of Fast Track for non members: $25

Processing Time

Processing times differ based on the time of year, so give up to six weeks for standard mail and, if you choose to use the fast track option, allow about two weeks (this allows recipients to get an electronically signed copy within a couple of days before you receive the hard copy in the mail).

Instructions

  • The ICC ICC can be obtained through one of two ways:
    • The process of completing the ICC test on water, which includes both theory and practical elements
    • Complete a practical course in the RYA Motor or Sail cruising programs at daytime Skipper or above.
  • The fees applicable to ICC tests are determined in the hands of Recognised Training Centers (RTCs) and include costs for the use of a learning vessel (unless owning a boat). Fees for application for the RYA is payable in GBP and are listed on the application form.
