Obtain a Tribe Certificate In India By Yourself

The tribes who are listed under the notified orders issued by the President may apply to obtain the Tribe Certificate.

Application In Person

  • In order to apply for tribe certificate, applicant has to go to the respective block/ward/thasildhar/municipal/DC/SDO Offices.
  • The application form is available at the office when the an applicant is in. OR The applicant must write their application on an A4 sheet in accordance with the guidelines. OR applicants can fill out the form via the online application facility on the state’s portal online according to the state’s requirements.
  • Send the completed application form and all necessary documents to the relevant authority.
  • After examining the documents and application will enter the information and give you with a record number to use as information.
  • The document and the details will be sent to Tahsildar or the concerned authority. The Tahsildar will then ask the authorities to investigate the details and conduct in-person verification of the information provided.
  • Authorities will conduct an inquiry with local elders/leaders regarding the person who is applying.
  • The notice will be distributed to the area of residence of the applicant to determine if any objection to the application.
  • After a few months and if there isn’t an objection to the authorities applying for the grant, they will then submit their report to their top authorities.
  • Based on the information submitted the Thasildar/concerned authority is going to decide whether or not to issue the tribal certificate.

Note:

  • The certificate will be sent out or handed out directly, as per the request submitted by the applicant. The majority of handovers in offices is the best way to collect counter signatures by the applicant on the delivery certificate.
  • In certain states, the applicant must apply for services over the counter such as CSC centres/e-seva to apply.
  • In certain states, applicants must apply via the state department’s online portal.

  • Self-declaration of the applicant.
  • School leaver certificate, if it is it is available
  • Birth Certificate
  • Aadhar Card
  • Voter ID (if is available)
  • Ration Card
  • Certificate from Panchayat/Municipality
  • BDO certificate
  • Residence documentation

Identification of the family

  • Family land documents
  • Caste certificates of family members
  • Recommendation from local authority, stating the applicant’s casting.

Note:

  • Original and copy of the original along with self-attestation as per the instructions of the appropriate authorities to be filed according to the requirement.
  • Other than the above documents, authorities can request additional documents or information. They will require these documents for processing.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a member of the tribe category
  • The applicant is required to possess the qualifications of an Indian citizen.
  • The applicant must be over the three years of age to be eligible for a community certificate.

  • The Caste certificate is a crucial document that allows you to benefit from certain services that are provided by the Government to economically disadvantaged communities, including the field of education and job opportunities to improve their lives.
  • Students in particular require the certificates of caste to guarantee their seats in institutions
  • This is valid for admission into any Educational Institutions and other professional institutions, as well as to be employed.

Information that could be helpful

  • The certificate is valid for many years.
  • A person is not able to change the caste he or she is in once the certificate is issued to them. But, if he/she converts to an alternative religion, the status of the class might change, which requires the issue of a new community certificate or caste.

NOTE:

It’s a crime punishable by law to use fake documents to obtain a certificate of community
