The Revenue Department of the respective state is the responsible department to issue the certificate of income from agriculture. The designated authority / tahsildar are the authorities that can approve the certificate.

Apply in-person:

  • In order to apply for the certificate of income from agriculture applicants must contact the deputy commissioner/sub district magistrate/sub divisional magistrate offices of the area office of the revenue department in order to apply.
  • Visit the appropriate office.
  • Take the application form with you or write it on a plain A4 sheet, as directed.
  • Fill out your application. Attach the required documents according to the “required documents” section. Submit it to the authorized authority.
  • The authorities after reviewing the documents that are attached to the application will record the details and will provide you with a the record number to refer to.
  • The application will be processed internally. The circle officer in charge / Village Administrator (VAO) along with the Revenue Inspector (RI) will conduct the verification at the ground level following which will be a thorough examination of any documents or other information submitted to the applicant.
  • When the verification process is completed after which the official will present their findings to their respective higher authority for the decision on the issue of the Certificate the applicant.
  • The status of the application, namely. Acceptance or Rejection, if applicable will be sent to the applicant via an SMS.
  • If the application is approved, the document will be handed over by hand or posted to the address specified when applying, or issued in accordance with the regulations in force.


  • The applicant must bring original documents when applying to verify and scan in the event of a need.
  • In the absence of a cross-signed photo and signature on the application will be refused.
