  1. You can apply online for Hackney Carriage Licences. You can view the contact information for the Transport Authority (TA) via this link: Link
  3. Visit Link to submit your application for TA through their online portal.
  4. Register users can login by entering their email address and password. If you don’t already have an account click “Register Now”. Enter your email address on the next page and click “Submit”. You will receive an email notification informing that your account has been created.
  5. Click on the link form TA from your email account to go to the TA Online Registration Form. Fill in all required information and create an account.
  6. After your account has been successfully created, you will be able to log in to your account by entering your registered email address and password.
  7. After logging in, click “Submit Application” on the next page. Select the type of application you want and the location that the license will be collected. Click on “Next”
  8. Enter your TRN and vehicle number in the new page. Click on the submit button to choose the type of license that you want (Hackney Carriage License -Metered).
  9. Complete the vehicle and license information fields. Next scan and upload any required documents. Finally, click “Add to Cart”. You will be taken to the payment page and application cart.
  10. Click on “checkout” to go to the payment page. Review your order and confirm it. You will be able to make payment online and receive confirmation emails.
  11. Once the license has been issued for collection, print the confirmation report and bring it to the office. This normally takes 5 working days.

Instructions

Hackney Carriages should have:

  • Red PPV license plates
  • The vehicle’s top is adorned with a globe bearing the words “Taxi”
  • Colour Code: A checked pattern in yellow and black. The pattern should be horizontally oriented and 10 cm (4 inches) high. Each square should measure 2.5 cm (1 inch)
  • An emblem from the Transport Authority on the windshield
  • Transport Authority Driver Identification card in the vehicle
  • An electronic monitoring device (tracking device), must be installed
  • A Transport Authority identification badge must be worn by the driver
  • All details regarding fares, mileage, and charges must be legibly printed in letters not less than one inch high on the exterior of the front doors
