Obtain or Renew a Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) Card In Ireland By Online
- All non-nationals that are not citizens of a member state that is part of the European Union, the European Economic Area or Switzerland are required to register in An Garda Sochna.
- Once you’ve registered, the correct confirmation certificate of your registration, in the shape of an GNIB Card will be issued to you.
- The cost is $300 and is payable by credit card or laser card, or by bank giro. The fee is not payable in cash.
- For those who reside within that region, Dublin Metropolitan Region you must make an appointment at the GNIB office at 13-14 Burgh Quay in Dublin 2. The hours of operation for the registration desk are from Monday to Thursday: 8.00.am. until 9.00.pm
Fridays: 8.00.am to 6.00.pm. - They are produced centrally in batches, in office of Garda National Immigration Bureau. Burgh Quay Dublin 2.
- The introduction to the printing batch procedure, foreigners who sign up in the Registration Office, 13 – 14 Burgh Quay, Dublin 2, after 8.30.pm in the evening could be required to come back in the morning to pick up their registration certificates.
- Non-nationals who reside outside Dublin Metropolitan Region Dublin Metropolitan Region will continue to sign up with the Registration District within which they reside. They will then be required to go back to that Registration Office to collect their Certificate of Registration at a later time.

Exempted from having to pay the fee:

- People who have been reunited with refugees in accordance with s.18 18 of the Refugee Act 1996;
- Individuals who are not 18 years old in the moment of registration
- Spouses, widows or widowers or widower of Irish citizen;
- Dependents of EU citizens who are granted an entry permit to stay in the EU pursuant to EU Directive 38/04.
A civil partner is a the surviving civil partner in the sense of the Civil Partnership Act 2010 and Certain Rights and Obligations Act, 2010 from an Irish citizen
