Renew Public Carrier Vehicle License In Jamaica By Yourself

  1. You can apply in person for the renewal or revocation of a Public Carrier License.
  2. You can obtain the application form at any of the TA offices listed in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section below. Or you can download it from the TA website Link (Click “Public and Private Carriers Q) Form”), or you may download the form directly from this link: Links
  3. Please read and complete the application accordingly
  4. Next, prepare all supporting documents required and attach them to the application form
  5. You will receive a receipt once you have paid the renewal fees.
  6. Next, go to the TA Office and send the completed application along with the payment receipt to a TA official at your service unit
  7. A TA official will review your application and issue a TA receipt.
  8. The official will then forward the application to relevant authorities for processing
  9. The processing period ends in three days. At that point, you should visit the TA office where your application was submitted. Present the original TA receipt along with your identification document (Passport, Voter ID or Drivers Licence) to the TA official at service desk.
  10. Your documents will be assessed by the TA official who will issue your Public Carriage renewal license

Apply Online

  1. You can apply online for a renewal of a public Carrier License for a Vehicle. You can view the contact information for Transport Authority (TA) via this link: Link
  2. Visit Link to submit your application for TA through their online portal.
  3. Register as a registered user to log in. If you do not have an account click “Register Now” for more information. Enter your email address on the next page and click “submit”. You will receive an email notification informing that your account has been created.
  4. Click on the link from TA in your email account to go to the TA online registration page. Fill out all information and click “create an account” for your account.
  5. After your account is successfully created, you will receive an email to confirm your account creation.
  6. To sign in, enter your email address and password on the login page.
  7. After logging in, click “Submit Application” to open a new page. Select the type of application “RENEWAL” as well as the location where you want the license collected. Click “Next”
  8. Enter the following information on the new page: “Road licence number”, “License Type(Public Carrier),” “Your TRN” and “Vehicle chassis number” then click the “Next” button.
  9. Fill in the information on this page and upload any supporting documents. Then click “ADD TO CART”.
  10. The application cart and payment details pages will open. To proceed to payment, you will need to review the payment information. Click on “Check out” to view it.
  11. To confirm the payment details, click on the “Confirm” button in the payment platform.
  12. Click on “Pay” to enter the information required from your visa, credit/debit card or credit card. After that, a credit card authentication will take place.
  13. After completing the authentication, two emails will be sent to your inbox confirming the payment from the pay-Gate and TA respectively.
  14. To renew your license, print the confirmation report from TA. Take it with you to the TA office.

To collect the license

  • The applicant must provide identification (Passport/Voter’s ID, Drivers Licence, Driver’s License) and the original receipt from Transport Authority.
  • The representative must provide their ID (Passport/Voter’s ID or Driver’s License), an Authorization Letter signed and stamped by a Justice of the Peace and the original receipt from The Transport Authority.
  • For a company, a letter signed and stamped in the company’s name, representative ID & Transport Authority receipt.
