Obtain License For Processed Fish (Dried/Smoked) In Uganda By Online

  1. Permits and licences for processed and by-products of fish (Dried/Smoked) is available by contacting the Directorate of Fish resources under the Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industries and Fisheries.
  2. Make sure you have the background information and other relevant information, then complete the proper application form, as explained by the Ministry of Agriculture Animal industries and Fisheries.
  3. Once you have completed the form, complete the form and pay the fee.
  4. Fill out the completed form, along with the payment slips to the health officer responsible for Fish and Animal products in the region where the fish by-products and processing plant are located. The health inspector office will conduct an inspection of the premises and ensure the safety of the by-product and fish that is processed.
  5. Make sure your application fees has been filled out and all information is submitted with the application.
  6. Take your By-product and Processed fish licence certificate from the place your application was received within 7 days of the date your application was received by the Ministry of Agriculture Animal industries and Fisheries in the event there isn’t a rejection.
  7. For local markets permits, the permit or licence is available directly from the town clerks in the Municipality or Division/City Authority. In the case of national, regional, or international markets, the by-products and processing licences are available from Ministry of Agriculture Animal industries and Fisheries under the department of fisheries resources.

Eligibility

All agencies and individuals involved in the distribution patterns of by-product fish as well as dry fish products to local, regional, and international markets, for home consumption or export activities within Uganda are eligible to apply for this licence.

  • Application Fees Ten Thousand Ugshs
  • License Fee $500,000 Ugshs
  • Renewal Fee $500,000 Ugshs

Validity

A license granted pursuant to the Act can be used for a year and will expires on December 31 each year.
