Corn Yield Calculator, Formula, Calculation & Example

Corn Yield Calculator

Based on a sample of 1/1000 acres, this corn yield calculator estimates how much corn is produced in a given field . Depending on the size and shape of your land, our tool will give you an estimate of how many bushels of corn it will produce. You will also find information about how our corn yield estimator works and how many ears of corn are in each bushel.

Corn yield formula – corn Yield Estimator

The corn yield calculator calculates the corn production in a field by using the following corn yield formula .

yield = field size * (KPE * ears* 1000) / kernels

where,

Field size refers to the area of cultivation in acres.

KPE refers to the kernels per ear of the 1/1000-acre sample.

ears refers to the number of ears of corn found in the 1/1000-acre sample.

These kernel sizes are used by us:

  • A bushel can contain between 120,000 and 100,000 kernels.
  • Medium to 90,000 kernels per bushel
  • Large quantities of kernels can be found in large-sized bags, ranging from 80,000 to 200,000.

Calculator for corn yield

Enter the following information to find out how many corn you have in your field.

  1. How many kernels are in each ear of your 1/1000-acre sample?
  2. How many ears of corn are in your 11,000 acre sample?
  3. The field size. You can convert area units to different units with our corn yield calculator.
  4. You can choose the size of the kernels. You can choose from three sizes: small (20,000 kernels per bushel), medium (95,000 kernels per bushel), and large (80,000 kernels per bushel).

You will receive two results after you have entered all of your information:

  • Number of bushels /acre
  • The total bushels needed for all of.

How many ears of corn are in a bushel

A bushel can be used to measure volume for liquids, fruits and dry goods like corn.

56 lb (25.4 kg) of corn is in a bushel. One bushel of corn weighs 56 lb (25.4 kg).

What is the cost of a bushel corn?

One bushel of corn is 56 pounds (25.4 kg), as mentioned in the previous paragraph. Although the prices for 1 bushel corn have varied over the years, the average corn bushel weighs 56 pounds (25.4 kg).

How many kernels are in an ear?

Corn kernels, are the fruits of corn. A corn ear contains around 800 kernels in 16 rows.

Calculate how many kernels are in an ear by counting the rows and the kernels-per row. Add these two numbers together.

Average corn yield per acre

Ag Professional states that the world’s average corn yield is 85 bushels per annum. This is faster than the world population growth. This allows for a slight increase in corn consumption, but no increase in corn area. With 366.6 million metric tonnes of corn produced in 2018, the USA is the largest exporter and producer of corn.

In case you wish to grow another crop, you can measure the vegetable yield you would get.
