- Contact the NCRA via this email address for information on the applicable standard/s applicable to the product you are planning to import.
- You should then inform your manufacturer or supplier about the specifications of the standard product which must be adhered to by the product before it is permitted entry into Jamaica
- Request and provide samples of the product you plan to import to NCRA to be evaluated whether the import you are considering meets all of the standards that are required or submit test results of the product obtained from an authorized laboratory. It is important to note that this must be completed ten days before the time the item is leaving the destination country.
- If the samples are in compliance with the requirements, you must inform that the NCRA of your intentions to import by submitting an official letter outlining the estimated annual amount of importation and the method of quality assurance of the product with the address of the warehouse that you will use to store the imports
- It is the NCRA can issue you with a prior-shipment authorization when the test certificate of the product or sample meets the requirements of the standard.
- If the product is not able to satisfy the standard/s required meet to the NCRA to determine what the product is able to be repaired.
