How To Apply for Citizenship In Antigua and Barbuda

1. The application for citizenship is sent by submitting an application to the Passport Office on Queen Elizabeth Highway. If you’re unsure whether you’re qualified to be considered for citizenship Interviewers can investigate and examine your application to confirm your eligibility. The applicant will pay to conduct the study.
2. Once you’ve submitted your application, you will be issued a receipt that asks for you to go back at your Immigration Department. Contact or visit at the Immigration Department to make an appointment within the first hour of receiving the confirmation from submitting the application.
3. You must bring the following documents to at the time of the interview Immigration Department:
   1. Receipt issued by Passport Office
   2. A copy of the BIO page from the passport(s) along with any other pages that have immigration stamps.
   3. All passports issued while living within Antigua as well as Barbuda.
   4. Local Antigua and Barbuda Police Record.
   5. A duplicate of the birth certificate.
   6. A copy of your marriage certificate (If you were married).
   7. Any Police Records from any other country you’ve resided for six or more months.
   8. Copies of receipts for arrears.

The Second floor at located on the second floor of Immigration Headquarters. The Unit offers the public diverse services, including the following:

• The issuance and renewal of temporary resident permits
• Lost and stolen passports
• Research on applicants for citizenship
• Interviews for Citizenship applicants

The officers in the Unit interview applicants every day. The goal of the interview is to confirm the authenticity of the applicant as well as authenticate photocopies of the documents along with originals that are submitted during an interview. They also collect details to determine whether the conditions for granting of citizenship have been fulfilled.
