  • East Africans may use valid national passports for travel within the region. They can also utilize their East African Passport, which was created as a travel documentation to facilitate border crossings to East Africans.
  • Presently, the East African Passport may be used to traveling within the EAC zone only. It comes with a six-month multiple entry validity and is among the benefits it grants to holders.

Apply in the following manner:

  1. The passport can be applied for by the immigration department
    • Candidates will be required to complete an application form that includes the entire information
  2. Visit the immigration office in your area to collect your application forms.

Eligibility

  • A East African Passport may be issued to citizens of Uganda who plans for travel in all East African Community member States.

Fees

The passport is priced at $10 or equivalent in EAC currencies. The charges of the East African International e-Passport will be in the following order:

Validity

  • The validity of the certificate is for not longer than five years after when it was issued but it can be renewed for an additional time period of five years in the event that the period does not exceed ten years.
