  • To become a licensed electrician You must submit your application online to Nigeria Electricity Management Agency (NEMSA) via the NEMSA URL.

  • Visit your local NEMSA Office in the area and present the receipt for payment to the official of the service in the office at reception.
  • Then NEMSA will evaluate your application and notify you via email whether you’re eligible to be cited or If you’re not qualified.
  • If you’re eligible your application will be scheduled for an exam and will be informed via email within a week prior to the date of the examination.
  • The day of the exam you’ll be required to take an examination of your written proficiency as well as an oral interview that will be that is conducted through the certified panel.
  • You will then be informed of the exam results two weeks following the examinations as well as the oral interview.
  • If you are able to pass the test then you’ll have to pay the cost of the competency certificate through the TSA no later than one week following the day you receive the notice.
