  1. In order to obtain the Export Health Certificate for Dogs, Cats, and Birds, you must visit the Veterinary Service Division (VSD) within the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MOA). You can find the VSD contact details under the “Office Contacts and Locations” section below.
  2. The first step is to inform to the VSD of your plans for export the horses or other animals in writing via an email at vsdpermits@gmail.com or by fax the information to (876) 977-0885.
  3. The VSD will notify you of the requirements for exporting the animal you are planning to export to the import country. We will then ask that you confine the animal to a quarantine facility.
  4. Choose a quarantine area and notify VSD VSD that the site is in place. the VSD will then approve the chosen area or decide on a better site to quarantine the animal being exported.
  5. The VSD will observe the animal’s behavior during the quarantine time and conduct an inspection of the animal following the expiration of the quarantine period and write an account of the inspection
  6. In the event that the animal’s condition is deemed to be healthy and the import conditions are met the quarantine has been completed which means you’ll be informed by the VSD However, in the event that the animal isn’t considered to be healthy or is not in compliance with import requirements, additional quarantine is required by the VSD
  7. After a successful quarantine and a successful application to obtain an export certificate for the animal or horse at the VSD

  1. The first step is to obtain all necessary documents and certificates of the animal you plan to export, such as the import permission from the country you are importing to.
  2. Fill out the application form and attach the necessary documents mentioned under the “Required Documents” section. Attach them to the form.
  3. Complete the application and the completed application to The Permit Office, Veterinary Services Division (VSD) 193 Old Hope Road, in person or scanned and sent to the followingaddress: email: vsdpermits@gmail.com or sent by fax at (876) 977-0885. Be aware that the information on your TRN is required.
  4. After receiving your application after receipt, the VSD will review your application along with the supporting documents to determine whether your application meets the standards required by the VSD.
  5. If the application is not valid If the documentation is not valid, the VSD will notify the applicant of the steps to take to meet the standard and, if your application is valid then it will issue a certificate. VSD will issue an informational note regarding payment for the certificate. You are required to pay the fee.
  6. The application fee for the health certificate to export in the VSD cashier using cash, debit, company cheque, credit card or manager’s checks and get the receipt for payment
  7. Once you have paid, your Export health certification will be given to you.

Instructions

  • A request for an Export Health Certificate must be completed and presented to the VSD in order to set up an appointment for inspection prior to export. An appointment to inspect to be conducted by the veterinarian of the government of all living animals will be required within 48 hours of departure. All animals that are to be exported are required to attend the scheduled appointment, along with all supporting medical veterinary documentation from a private vet licensed to practice the art of veterinary medicine in Jamaica.

Application In Person

  1. In order to apply for the Export Health Certificate and export license for products from fisheries, you need to visit the Veterinary Service Division (VSD) within the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MOA). You can find the VSD contact details under the “Office Contacts and Locations” section below.
  2. The first step is to inform first to the VSD of your intentions to export the product in writing via the email: vsdpermits@gmail.comor faxed to (876) 977-0885.
  3. When you receive your intention letter after receipt, the VSD will confirm if the facility is registered. If it is not then you will have to be registered for your facility.
  4. The VSD will notify you of the requirements for export for the items you want to export to the import country. They will also ask that you submit the batches of the product to the VSD laboratory for testing.
  5. Each batch will undergo testing, and should they fail, you’ll get informed about the test results by a written notice sent by VSD and, if the items are able to pass the test the VSD will inform you via the VSD and will be required to complete the application of the health certificate.

  7. Begin by obtaining all required documents and certificates of the product you want to export, which includes the import permit issued by the country of import.
  8. Complete the application and attach all supporting documents listed under the “Required Documents” section. Attach them to the form.
  9. Submit the completed application in The Permit Office, Veterinary Services Division (VSD) 193 Old Hope Road, in person, or scan and email to email address: vsdpermits@gmail.com or Fax at (876) 977-0885. Note that information for the TRN is required.
  10. After receiving your application after receipt, the VSD will review your application and the supporting documents to determine if the application meets the standards required by the VSD.
  11. If the document is inadmissible and the VSD will advise you on how to comply with the requirements and If the application is valid then the VSD will issue you a payment note with the certificate. you’ll be required to pay the cost.
  12. Pay the fee for the health certificate for export through the VSD cashier using cash, debit or company cheque, credit card or manager’s check and get the receipt for payment
  13. After payment, an exported health certificates will be issued to you together with the export permit
