How To Apply for Extension of Stay In Antigua and Barbuda
- Visitors looking for an extension of their time within the country should make an application in the Immigration Department on the prescribed form that is available from the department or on their website. A form for application must be filled out by each applicant who want to extend their stay in the country for tourism purposes.
- Before you make an application for an extended stay you’ll require an appointment to the Extension Division of the Immigration Department by calling 562-7883.
- Make the necessary documents that you’ll be required to submit with your completed application. You must send or show these documents:
- One passport size photograph
- A valid passport or other travel document.
- A valid airline ticket
- The evidence of the means to support
- The application fee ($300.00 for Non-CARICOM Nationals or $150.00 to CARICOM Nationals).
- An original copy of the clearance of the vessel as well as the crew list. (for the crew)
- An employment letter issued by the Master in the event that crew members were brought aboard via air to join the vessel. (crew members)
- The applicant is required to show up in person and be able to prove his capacity to sustain himself at the expense of Antigua or Barbuda. Application for an extension of THE TIME FOR OTHER motives:
- Justification for extension or reason to extend stay
- Valid return tickets in good order or a deposit
- Evidence of adequate funds to pay to pay for the expenses of the stay
- The proof of a legitimate hotel
- Documentation of parental lineage (for minors)
- Documentation of employment or authorization in the event of a need.
- is in good health and has health insurance coverage
- Continuous source of income annually that is not less than the prescribed amount , but without the requirement to work the work force for Antigua or Barbuda;
- has made investments in property for residential use located in Antigua as well as Barbuda in the amount that was prescribed or
- In total or in part residence located in Antigua as well as Barbuda.
- The marriage certificate is issued to an Antiguan spouse or spouse of an applicant for a permit to reside.
- A completed extension of stay form.
- A completed Sponsorship Form.
- Letter from the Government Office noting employment conditions.
- Other documentation that informs the department about the reason behind the extension of the time.
- A police certificate from the country in which you reside (if needed).

What Are All The Eligibility
Holders of any permit issued pursuant to the Immigration and Passport Act 2014 who want to stay on Antigua or Barbuda for longer than the duration stated on their permit are able to apply for an extension of their stay.
A stay extension may be granted to:
- A period of not more than 90 days.
- For the duration as specified in a permit for work or
- To reside within Antigua and Barbuda during the time of an education institution.
Fees
Application cost: $300.00 for the Non-CARICOM Nationals, and $150.00 in the case of CARICOM Nationals.
Validity
A STAY EXTENSION must be requested prior to the expiration date of entry endorsement. The extension of stay can be granted for at least 3 (3) months. An authentic government certificate will be given after approval by the government of this extension.
Instructions
Requests for extensions of stay must be made at the office of the Chief Immigration Officer.
