  3. Fill out the form thoroughly, then make it official in the presence of an Justice of the Peace official or a Notary Public, or someone who is authorized to administer oaths. Then, the application must be supported by four referees. Note: The references must have to be Jamaican by birth and must not be relatives of civil servants attorneys or agents or representatives of applicants.
  4. Instructions

Two passport-sized photos should be taken as per PICA’s guidelines:

  • Photographs must be taken in the color mode with a matte or dull look, and against a simple background
  • People with light complexions should be careful not to wear white clothing and should take photographs on a pastel-colored background
  • Candidates with dark complexions must wear dark-colored clothing and pictures should be taken on white backgrounds.
  • Candidates with white or grey hair should have their picture photographed against a light white or blue background
  • There can be no another person or object in the photo.
  • There should not be shadows in the background.
  • A fully frontal pose is necessary.
  • There shouldn’t be any creases or ink marks left on the photograph
  • The chest and shoulders should be kept away from
  • Colorful clothing is not recommended.
  • Eyeglasses should not be equipped with tinted lenses.
  • Frames with heavy (thick) frames must be avoided
  • It is not permitted to wear headgear except for religious reasons. Face features like the contour of the face from lower part of the chin up to high of the forehead have to be clearly displayed
