The goal is to regulate the public service motorcycles (boda bodas) as well as to improve the efficiency of the bodabodas of Uganda.

Information that can be useful

  • Boda-Boda services can be chaotic (to the point that they are frequently viewed as a threat) due to an absence of clear enforcers of operating regulations and a high standard of service delivery.
  • Insufficient regulation of the industry makes it hard to regulate the activities and, consequently, lessen undesirable behavior of Boda-Bodas and accidents, as well as reduce the amount of unlicensed drivers.
  • Despite being seen in many circles as a threat many people still use the Boda-Boda services and take rides on them as they offer distinct services.
  • The majority of passengers and operators don’t have health insurance. Insurance companies consider them to be high risk and hesitate to cover the operators as well as their passengers.
