Applying for Transfer of Vehicle ownership In Uganda By Yourself

  1. The current owner must login to his account through the URA website and then navigate to the transfer page of the vehicle.
  2. The user will be asked to input the information to whom the vehicle should be transferred, such as an TIN code of vehicle to become the new owner.
  3. The owner who will be the new owner must login into his URA account and also on site and then accept the transfer. The procedure will be notified to a member of URA staff members to supervise.
  4. After successful verification of both the Transferee and Transferee’s information, likely within 48 hours The new owner will receive an updated log book upon passing over the old (current) Log book from the vehicle.
  5. The process will come to an end and the vehicle will be registered to its new owners.

60,000 shillings for motor vehicles and other vehicles that are dual-purpose exempting light goods.
