The “Certificate of Origin (CO)” certifies the source of the export items. It is typically issued for products that are sold overseas as a continuous export. The certificate of origin can be required to prove customs or commercial reasons.

Visit the office of the appropriate department and speak with the authority designated to find out the most recent application procedures If any. Make sure you have an application form.
The applicant must submit all necessary documents according to the guidelines. If there’s a shortage in the required documents then the application will not be accepted.
Fill out your application. Include all the documents described under the “Required Documents” section on this page. Submit the form to the authority you have designated at the counter.
After the application has been received The authorities will then review the submitted application and the documents provided. If everything is correct your application is approved with fees applicable to the application.
An acknowledgement receipt will be sent to the applicant to facilitate the filling out the application form, which is kept by the applicant to be used in the future.
From that point the applicant is required to adhere to the rules from the authority.
If there is a missing or inaccurate specifics, the applicant must submit them in accordance with the guidelines by the authority.
The document will be signed following having been signed and stamped by the authorities issuing the certificate according to the applicable rules.

Application form.
Letter of cover addressed to authority concerned on the letterhead printed by the business.
Commercial Invoice.
List of packing.
If the products are from a foreign country,
- Documentary proof for commercial use is the copy of the document of origin supplied by the manufacture.
- A commercial invoice issued by a manufacturer, or a supplier’s statement.
One copy of the Bill of Lading / Airway Bill.
One copy of the Packing List to the concerned invoice.

In addition to the previously mentioned documents, authorities could request additional information or documents. You must provide them with the information needed for an efficient process.

What Are All The Eligibility

The goods should be origin of the respective export/manufacturer’s country.
The manufacturer/exporter should not be a blacklisted company.

Pay as directed by the authorities.

Validity

The certificate is used for the consignment that is produced in response to an order for purchase. Therefore, the validity of the certificate is applicable to the products that are produced.

Processing Time

The process is initiated after the entire set of required documents is received.
The application is usually handled within 24hrs or in accordance with the timeframe that is communicated.
If the application in person is approved, then it will issue the document in accordance with the period of time specified by the authorities.

Instructions

Applicant can get a fee reduction by becoming a chamber member, in accordance with the respective chamber rules.
The agreement that is signed by the applicant has to contain the following.
- The products are made entirely from the exporting country of the particular product.
- The details of the relevant manufacturing procedure.
- If the products aren’t originated in the nation of exporter The list of documents supporting the export are required as per the requirements.

Need to have the Document

“Certificate of Origin” is required to verify that the goods that are imported/exported are legal and if such import or export is subject to duty.
An origin certificate is an official document used in international commerce.
