De-Register a Motor Vehicle In Uganda By Online
- The process is only available online. In order to apply for De-Registration , you need to have a new registration book that is in your name.
- Visit the URA web portalhttps://www.ura.go.ug and Login to your TIN account using TIN and password. Under the e-services section, Point on Motor Vehicles registration, then choose applications from the expanded menu. You can also utilize the details on the following page for complete this procedure : Instructions to Follow
- In the form, select a new form and then the purpose of Application for De-Registration. complete all mandatory information.
- Note down the information of the declarant (person responsible for initiating the Deregistration) Next, click
- NOTE: Owners details will be automatically filled in and displayed in gray. Next, click
- Record the reason why you want to be de-registered Next, click on OK
- Choose the attachments, then go to the Payment Registration page . Click on Register Payment. Details on the De-Registration fee will automatically populate, choose the bank and payment method, after which you can submit your application.
- Once you have submitted the form, you’ll receive an acknowledgement email. Scroll down for the receipt to print. complete the form, and then print the payment slip.
- Pay the amount in the designated bank and then submit the correctly completed application form to the Licensing offices for approval, along with attachments.
- URA will inform you of status of your Motor Vehicle De- registration application status within two working days following receipt of all the information required
