Each period, the total of 5500 widows or wards of ex-servicemen are chosen for this scholarship program. Only applications made online are considered in this process.

Register Online

  • Children of ex-servicemen can submit an application for PMSS.
  • Before you apply online Download the annexures provided and fill them out the Annexure 1. as well as Annexure 2. and Annexure 3.
  • Check that the format provided in the annexures is adhered to. The applicants should not design their own formats for these annexes. Only signatures that are authorized are accepted.

  • Complete all of the information and click “Save and forward”. Make sure you select “Save as well as forward” when you’ve completed the application, or else the application will be displayed on the dashboard, but not completed.

  • Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast guard Certificate that has been filled out as well as signed by ZSB/Coast guard Headquarters in accordance with Annexure-1
  • Bonafide Certificate duly filled up correctly and signed by Vice Chancellor / Principal/ Vice Principal/Dean/Associate Dean/Registrar/Dy Registrar/Director/Dy Director of the Institute/College as per Annexure-2

  • Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) certificate depending on the situation. (10+2 Mark sheet/Graduation (mark sheets of three years) or Diploma (mark sheets for each semester)
  • The first page of the Bank Pass Book (preferably PNB/SBI only) clearly indicating the name of the student as well as the IFS code of the institution.
  • Aadhaar Card of the student.
  • Identification Card PPO/ESM for category 6 along with the documents that support it for Categories 1-5
  • Categorization 1: Part II Order in the event of ArmyForm / Gen for Navy POR in case of Navy POR in the case of Air Force

Eligibility

  • Only those who scored 60% or above at the Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) i.e 10+2 or Diploma / Graduation may be eligible for PMSS.
  • Children of ESM or Ex-Coast Guard
  • Students who are enrolled in diploma-level courses are not qualified

Applications submitted by students who fall in the following category are not considered eligible:

  • Students who have previously benefited from the benefits of PMSS prior to.
  • Students who are studying for their degrees in another country or taking a online courses.
  • Students who have less than 60 percent scores in MEQ. The sum of marks achieved across all subjects/all semesters or academic years will be considered and recalculated.
  • Students taking academic course or courses that aren’t listed in the The List of Courses for PMSS.
  • Students in the 2nd or later years of their Course (except Lateral Entry and Integrated Courses).
  • Students who have received a scholarship or concession from another source that is greater than the amount provided by PMSS.

Fees

This service doesn’t require any charges.

Validity

This scheme, known as the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme must be renewed each academic year during the time period of the scholarship.

Instructions

  • Be sure that your Mobile No and E-mail ID that you have provided to PMSS remains in use until you finish the course as all notifications and SMS regarding the how your application is progressing will be sent to your associated Mobile No and E-Mail. If you notice any changes you should inform KSB to ensure that the information are updated.
  • Make sure you keep your user ID and password safe to renew the scholarship for the following academic year.

  • The scheme of the Prime Minister’s scholarship was launched during the academic year 2006-2007. The aim of the scheme was to promote further professional and technical education for dependent children from Ex Servicemen / Ex Coast Guard personnel.
  • Through these scholarships, eligible male applicants can receive Rs.2500 per month. Eligible girls could receive Rs.3000 per month.

        • The merit list of the selected candidates will be posted onto the KSB website.
        • This PMSS scheme is available only for two children from the ESMor Ex-Coast Guard.
        • Information about all children must be listed in para 12 of Annexure 1. It must be submitted in accordance with the Discharge Book or Certificate of the Ex-servicemen or Ex-Coast Guard. In case the child was born after the retirement / release, an affidavit/self-certificate is to be prepared, scanned and uploaded by the Ex-serviceman.
        • Each year, 5500 scholarship are given out. The scholarships are equally distributed among girls and boys i.e. 2750 each.
        • The scholarships are granted for a period of between one and five years based on the program structure.
