How To Obtain a Certificate of Disability (Certificado Unico de Discapacidad – CUD) In Argentina
- In order to apply for the Certificate of Disabilities (Certificado Unico de Disapacidad – CUD) you need to obtain a medical certificate or reports as well as other documents that serve as proof of impairment.
- You must present your documentation to your neighborhood Disability Certification Board. It is possible that you will require to submit or provide additional documents. Follow the link in the “Required Documents” section for more information.
- Attend the assessment that will be administered by the Board.
- You must wait for a decision on the part of the panel.

Validity
Validity of the document is dependent in the dependance of age as well as status of the holder
- From 5 to 0 years old, for up to 5 years validity (maximum).
- 5+ years, 10+ years is the maximum.
A Disability Certificate is document valid across Argentina.

The CUDs are granted from the Disability Certification Board in each province.

- Family allowances for ANSES (Law 22,431 Art. 14)
- The full coverage of basic rehabilitation and rehabilitation services in union healthcare and Private health insurance firms, and the Federal Program “Include Health” (Law 24,901)
- Pensions with no contribution
- Complete coverage of prescription medicines (Law 23,662 art. 28)
- Free public transportation throughout the nation (Decree 38/2004)
- The public sector is the most employed sector as per Labor Quota Law 25,689
- Prosthetic limbs and wheelchairs hearing aids
- The ability to access education in regular public schools through the help of a group of specialists
- The right to demand demolition of any architectural barrier, or any other obstacle that prevents access to private or public places
- International Access Label for Vehicles that permit free parking for those with disabilities, who are always subject to the local traffic laws of each state
- A right to secure a parking space in the street in front of their residence for those who have a serious motor impairment.
- Tax exemptions, based on the laws of each state
