How To Obtain a Duplicate Driver License In Guadeloupe
- Write a statement in writing about your stolen or lost driver’s license.
- You can apply for the procedure in any of the following office:
- in the sub-prefecture or prefecture in which you reside (note that certain sub-prefectures may not be equipped to handle this kind of application)
- in Paris in Paris, in Paris, Driving License Unit of the Police Headquarters.
- It is only possible to apply in person, by contacting the counter. In the event that the license holders is minor (category AM) then it’s the parent or minor’s guardian that should apply for the process.
- Make sure you pay all fees applicable.
- A new driver’s license is delivered via mail. There isn’t a exact date for when you’ll get the new license. In the meantime, while waiting until you receive the license, you are able to drive within France only with the receipt that the prefecture gave to you at the time you applied for a duplicate. It lasts for 2 months.
Note:

Receiving your license
- The license will be delivered to you by mail to your address at home.
- If you’re out when the postman hands you the license to you, then you are given 15 days to collect you license from the Post Office. Note: Certain prefectures and sub-prefectures print out a Declaration of lost driver’s licences (get in contact to your Prefecture to inquire about this)
