Obtain Coffee Dealers License (permit) In Uganda By Yourself

  1. The application for a Coffee Dealers license (Commercialor Grower) can be done in person, by going to the Uganda Coffee Development Authority Head Offices, or their field offices located in the counties.
  2. You will be issued an Application for a Dealer’s License . complete and submit.
  3. Complete the necessary information carefully, and attach the necessary documents. This includes:
    • An official copy of the the certificate of incorporation.
    • An official copy of memorandum as well as the articles of association.
    • A capitalized share which has been paid.
    • Director names Directors’ names, individual National ID/Passport number, Tin numbers and certificates for good behavior.
    • Addresses and names of two business reference persons.
    • Tax compliance certificate issued by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) for Directors of the Company as well as the Directors.
    • A letter of confirmation issued by the Uganda Coffee Exchange (UCE).
    • Compliance with Statutory requirements which includes, but not limited to NEMA certificate (where appropriate) Safety & Occupational Health Certificate (where relevant) along with a Local Authority Permit for Business Permit.
    • Valid performance bonds to the Coffee Directorate of Uganda.
    • The evidence of engagement of a coffee supplier registered through the Directorate.
    • Intention to supply Directorate with monthly returns. Directorate with monthly reports.
    • Other requirements that could be set or imposed by Directorate Directorate at any time.
    • If the applicant is a registered company The certificate of registration as well as the particulars of the owner.
  4. complete the application form, pay the fee for the application and provide the receipt to prove payment.
  5. Then, there is an inspection of the applicants by the Authority field officers
  6. Authorities field officers will make recommendations on the application. Authority area officers provide suggestions on the application, and will forward their findings to the Authority’s Headquarters for final Board approval.
  7. Following a successful approbation by the board, a list of coffee dealers approved by the board is released by the Uganda gazette.
  8. At this point , the applicant is informed and must pay the fee for the license to the board and provide the receipt as evidence of payment.
  9. After the processing of the license is completed, the Coffee Dealer/Trader license is granted to the person who applied for the license by the Director-General at Uganda Coffee Development Authority. Uganda Coffee Development Authority.

  • The evidence of engagement of a licensed coffee maker with the Authority.
  • The agreement is to provide Authority with monthly returns. Authority with monthly reports.
  • Other requirements that could be set or imposed by Authority at any time.
  • If the applicant is registered as a business The certificate of registration as well as the particulars of the owner.

Eligibility

Anyone, cooperative society, or company that wishes to purchase coffee from the Exchange or import coffee from Uganda is able to make this application.

Fees

Fees for licences for licences: 500 000 Ugshs.

Validity

This license will be valid for the time that is one calendar year.

Documentation is needed

A person is not able to deal or trade in coffee without being the holder of an active license granted in relation to it from the Authority after consultation with the Authority.
