- Visit the office of the Touring & Automobile Club of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
- Apply for the International Driving Permit (IDP).
- Complete the form and submit it along with your current driver’s license, passport and photo.

Required Documents For Obtain International Driving Permit (IDP
- Driver’s license issued by the Islamic Republic of Iran, the validity of which must last for at least an entire year. Your driver’s license should be valid for a minimum of three years if you’re applying for a 3-year international driver’s license.
- One piece picture (size: 3 x 4). For women who are applying they must be wearing an Islamic veil.

Validity
IDPs aren’t valid within the home country. The IDP has validity for a year from the date of its effective date, provided that the Iranian license remains valid for the duration of that year. It is also possible to obtain an IDP that is valid for three years.
Instructions
- Section 24 of the United Nations Convention on Road Traffic (1949) allows Touring & Automobile Club of the Islamic Republic of Iran (TACI) to issue IDPs for those who possess legitimate Iranian driving licenses.
- Additionally is the fact that it is worth noting that the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has identified TACI as the sole licensed distributor for IDPs. Before you leave Iran you can get an IDP by calling the nearest TACI representative.
