Obtain Motor Cycle/Generator Repair Garage Trading License In Uganda By Online

  1. Select and complete the application form to apply for a Repair Garage Licence from the Municipal Authority.
  2. The Licensing Authority may decide it is that it is necessary to visit the garage to check that it is in compliance with the standard for garages from the Authority.
  3. Pay the appropriate fees, based on the garage’s operation, and attach an image of the pay slip of the Bank to the application.
  4. Send the application with all the required documents including a map of the location and a temporary site plan to the municipality, city or town Authority close to your location.
  5. After being approved by the Authority an approved motor cycle or generator repair Garage Licence will be given to the person who applied for it.

Required Documents For Obtain Motor Cycle/Generator Repair Garage Trading License

  • Applicant must get Clearance from Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives for those who are not nationals.
  • For new businesses – Original registration certificate (Business name)
  • Certificate of incorporation of an (Company)
  • The applicant must obtain approval from the Uganda Registration Services Bureau.
  • Original receipt from the municipality for the previous year , which indicates the existence of business
  • Original lease and rent agreement with the Landlord to the new company.
  • The original trading license from the previous year to allow already operating business.

Eligibility

Any person of 18 years carrying out business in Municipality/Division/Town/City/Kampala City Council Authority’s jurisdiction except those who are exempted under Section 8(2) of the Trade Licensing Act are eligible to obtain Trading license for a Motor cycle/generator repair garage.

The creator is required to pay the appropriate license fee to the bank in the following manner: License Fee:

  • (a) Grade I – 112,500 Ugshs
  • (b) (b) II – (b) Grade II – Ugshs
  • (c) Class III, 45,000 Ugshs
  • (d) Graduation IV 24,000 Ugshs

  • (a) Grade I – 112,500 Ugshs

  • List and details of Shareholders( If there is any)
  • Certificate of Registration
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • Memorandum of Understanding and Articles of Association

  • Deed of Trust, in the manner appropriate
  • Information on whether the shareholder has been found guilty of a crime in Uganda or in another country.

Information that can be useful

In order to determine the amount of fees to be paid in any municipality, city or town, the Mayor will in a statutory decree, divide the territory of each municipality, city or town into classes.

  • Grade I areas that comprise all industrial zones in District and Municipality. Municipality as well as District.
  • Grade II areas that encompass all areas not included in Grade I areas within the Municipality.
  • The Grade III areas are the trading centers- within District.
  • Grade IV zones that are areas outside of the trading centers in the District.
