  • The applicant must apply to the designated authorities for registration (Commissioner/Deputy Director) of the locale energy-related development authority required to get a renewable energy certificate REC.
  • The applicants who meet the criteria for eligibility, as which are listed in the section on eligibility below, can apply for accreditation to relevant state agencies.

Application Online

  • Go to the portal online Link
  • In the page you are on, click “RE Generators” under “Sign Up” in the upper right on the page.
  • On the page, please fill in the prompts on the screen with the correct information and click “Submit” to the end of the page.
  • A new screen showing RE Generator’s signup confirmation that is successful will be displayed. Return to the homepage. Choose the login option.
  • A login screen will prompt the user to sign in with a login credential. Make sure to complete the credit as needed and click the “login” click.
  • An updated screen will be presented. Complete the prompts according to the applicable ones for “Owner detail Detail of Operator Station detail and Connection …, Metering information Clearance details, General information Fees & Charges enclosures” each one at a time and then press the “next” to the end the session.
  • In the declaration session that follows In the declaration session, you must fill out the required information on the page and click the “Submit to Accreditation” button.
  • The user will receive a pop-up to confirm. You must click the “OK” option.
  • Applicant receives acknowledgement form. Save it for later references.
  • The application will be handled by the state agency responsible for processing it.
  • Check for the announcement from the department, and follow their directions to complete the registration process.

Note:

  • If the Applicant is involved in multiple RE generation initiatives, then separate applications need to be made by the applicant in each of the RE generation projects.
  • The entities that are eligible must make an application to the central authority for certificates within six months after the generation that is corresponding to eligible renewable energy sources provided that an application online to issue of certificates can be submitted on the 10th/20th or the final day in the month.

Eligibility

  • A company involved in the producing electricity from renewable energy sources will be qualified to apply for registration for the issuance and trading in Certificates, if it meets the following requirements:
  • It has been accredited by the state agency.
  • It is not a party to any power purchase agreement to sell the capacity associated with such generation. It is not able to sell electricity.
  • It doesn’t sell the electricity produced by the plant, whether directly or through a trader to an obliged entity

Fees

  • The registration fee is non-refundable, as are the charges and annual fee/charges established by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Validity

The REC is issued and will remain valid for one hundred and ninety-five calendar days after the date of issue of such Certificate.
