Renew Pharmacy Licence In Uganda By Online

  1. Every renewal of a license for a pharmacy application must be submitted via an online platform of the National Drug Authority management information system, which is an online platform.
  2. Any applicant who wishes to renew their license will be given the credentials for access to NDAMIS on an inquiry.
  3. The applicant must pay all the fees that are prescribed according to the regulations upon applying through the payment system online.
  4. To renew a license for pharmaceuticals applicants must make contact with for assistance with the National Drug Authority Management Information System.
  5. The applicant must ensure that he/she has all the necessary documents required to make this process successful. These documents can be found in”Required Documents” under the “Required Documents” section on this page.
  6. The payment of the appropriate fees must be made. The details of the payment is available in this page’s “Fees” section on this page.
  7. When the procedure is complete Following the completion of this process, the Authority will within 60 days of receiving an application to issue the applicant a practice license on the prescribed form, after finding that
    • is legally registered or enrolled.
    • is not the reason for being suspended from practice and
    • is in compliance with the other conditions that the Authority can prescribe, including the fulfillment of the requirements prescribed for continuing professional education during the one year.

Required Documents For Renew Pharmacy Licence

  • Clearance from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives for non-nationals.
  • Certificate of decomposition of expiring drug prior to the issue of a new Licence.
  • Previous approval from the National Drug Authority to pharmacies that had a licence to be operating in the closing year.
  • Proof of Services/business-registration/registering.
  • Original registration certificate (Business name)
  • Certificate of Incorporation (Company)
  • Letter of confirmation sent by Uganda Registration Services Bureau
  • Original KCCA receipt from the year prior, indicating that there was business.
  • The original rent and tenancy agreement from the Landlord to the new company.
  • The original trading license from the previous year to allow an already established business.
  • A previous certificate of the suitability of the premises
  • License to run the retail or wholesale pharmacy
  • A previous Certificate of Full Name as a Pharmacist
  • In the event of a change of the supervisor of the pharmacist from one pharmacy to another, evidence of the pharmacist’s role as a director must be provided to the National Drug Authority.

Eligibility

  • Any person of 18 years carrying out business in Municipality/Division/Town/City/Kampala City Council Authority’s jurisdiction.
  • Other than those who are exempted by Section 8(2) (b) of the Trade Licensing Act are eligible to renew the trading license of Pharmacies.

  • (a) Grade I – 600,000 Ugshs
  • (b) (b) II (b) Grade II Ugshs
  • (c) 3. Grade 240,000 Ugshs
  • (d) Graduation IV 126,000 Ugshs

Validity

Valid for one year.

Processing Time

Maximum Processing Time: 2 days.

Instructions

  • Pharmacies are able to be relocated within the area however the new location must be within the 200-meter distance from the closest existing pharmacy.
  • Pharmacies who wish to change their management have to be licensed with a valid license.
  • Changes in Licence i.e pharmacy to a drug shop licence, wholesale Licenses , to retail licenses, and the reverse should be treated as new applications, and be subject to applicable regulations.
