Renew Route Taxi Licence In Jamaica
- You can renew your Route Taxi License by submitting an online application to Transport Authority (TA). You can view the contact information for Transport Authority (TA) via this link: Link
- Visit Link to submit your application for TA through their online portal.
- Register users can login by entering their email address and password. If you don’t already have an account click “Register Now”. Enter your email address on the next page and click “Submit”. You will receive an email notification informing that your account has been created.
- Click on the link form TA from your email account to go to the TA Online Registration Form. Fill in all required information and create an account.
- After your account has been successfully created, you will return to the log in page. Here you can sign in using your registered email address.
- After logging in, click “Submit Application” on the next page. Select the type of application you want to submit as “Renew” along with the location where the license is collected. Click on “Next”
- Enter the road number, select the type of license (“Route Taxi”) and click on Next to go to the next page.
- Fill in the required fields regarding your vehicle and license information. Next, scan and upload any required documents. Finally, click “Add to Cart” to be taken to the application cart page and payment page.
- Click on “checkout” to go to the payment page. Review your order and confirm it. You will be able to make payment online and receive confirmation emails.
- Once the license has been issued for collection, print the confirmation report and bring it to the office. This normally takes 3 working days.
Required Document For Renew Route Taxi Licence
- Current motor vehicle registration certificate
- Current certificate of fitness
- Number of tax payer registration (TRN).
- Current PPV Insurance
- Taxi license for old/current route
- Identification document (Driver’s licence, Voters ID or Passport).
- Transport Authority motor vehicle inspection list
- If you are a member, a letter from the taxi company
If the vehicle is registered to a business
- Memorandum of Association and Article
- Certificate of incorporation
- All directors need a police record
- Certificate of compliance with tax
All documents must be scanned

Instructions
Route Taxis must be:
- Red PPV license plates
- On the door is written “Route Taxi”.
- The details relating to the route are clearly printed on the outside of your front doors
- An emblem from the Transport Authority on the windshield
- The vehicle’s top is adorned with a globe bearing the words “Taxi”
- Colour Code: A checked pattern in black or white. The pattern should be horizontally oriented and 10cm (4 inches) high. Each square should measure 2.5cm (1″) in height
- Transport Authority Driver Identification card in the vehicle
- An electronic monitoring device (tracking device), must be installed
- A Transport Authority identification badge must be worn by the driver
- Every taxi driver should have a PPV driver’s license
- Approved uniforms must be worn
