  1. For renewal of your trademark registration you must apply for renewal through a certified transaction clearance bureau, law firm and/or any other regional Directorate.
  2. Go to on the Official Oman eGovernment Services Portal to apply online.
  3. The system’s computer will send the applicant an email message or text message with the number of your application and the date and time when you’ll need to complete your application.
  4. You will also receive an email/text message informing you of what the state of your request is (Approved or rejected, require more details and so on.)
  5. If your application is accepted, you will receive a certificate to you.

Information that can be useful

Conditions for registering for Trade Marks

  • The trademark name must be Arabic is in line with the public ways and customs.
  • It shouldn’t be registered prior to the Ministry.
  • The name of the business could be copied if the business is not the same.
  • The term (International Global, Global, Overseas (International, Global, Overseas, etc.). for businesses with capital of RO 100,000 or higher.
  • The term (Oman and Omani) can be used by businesses or establishments with capital of RO 500,000 or more.
  • Names of cities, rivers and well-known places in Arabic countries at any time they were in existence.
  • Famous names can be used in conjunction with specificization (Ibn Alnafees and Ibn Al Haythem) and so on.
  • The trade name can be a title (Abu name of daughter or son’) when the investor has the daughter or son.

Registration Restrictions:

  • One trade mark can’t be allowed to be registered once more if the name is pluralized. For example: Outlook Rose would not be Outlook Roses.
  • The names of Non Arabic towns and cities are not permitted.
  • Names that refer to Arabic or Foreign countries are not allowed for example, Lebanon, Saudi, etc.
  • It is not permitted to use the words Mother and Daughter is not allowed in trade names.
  • The name of the personal name of the investor from a foreign country is not permitted to be used in the trade name unless the name is registered by a registered business in another country. (Foreign Investment)
  • The tribe’s name cannot be made plural with the help of (Aal).
  • Names of minors or partners who are underage are not allowed other than in limited liability corporations.
  • Proper nouns are only permitted when they refer on the identity of an investor.
  • Anyone, whether juristic or natural, are eligible to submit an application.
  • Citizens, GCC Countries’ nationals, Residents, visitors, etc. may apply for the visa.
