  1. Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is the corporate responsible for issuing and processing Tax Compliance Certificates (TCCs) in Jamaica. This link will allow you to view their contact information: Link
  2. Download the TAJ’s Link application letter to register for TCC or obtain it from this link: Links
  3. Completion of the application form. Next, prepare all required supporting documents according to the “Required Documents Section” below. Attach them to the application form
  4. To complete the application, you must visit one of these TAJ collectorates offices:
    1. St. Ann’s Bay Collectorate
    2. Mandeville Collectorate
    3. May Pen Revenue Service Centre
    4. Constant Spring Revenue Service Centre
    5. Spanish Town Revenue Service Centre
    6. Montego Bay Revenue Service Centre
    7. King Street Collectorate
    8. Savanna-La-Mar Collectorate
    9. Santa Cruz Collectorate (to be added)
    10. Port Antonio Collectorate (to come on stream)
  5. Your application will be reviewed and you will need to complete a short interview about the application.
  6. Once all details have been confirmed with TAJ officials, they will enter the data into their system. The TCC will then be generated and issued to you.

Apply via Fax or Mail

  1. Complete the TCC Application Form in Step 2.
  2. Send the completed application along with all required documents to the TAJ office. After processing, you will be able to pick up the TCC.

  5. After receipt of your application, the TAJ official will validate it and process the TCC within 24hrs
  6. To collect your Tax Compliance Certificate, visit the TAJ office from which you submitted your application. Note that applicants who are new to the TAJ office will be interviewed about their application. Applications will then be held for two working days. After that, applicants must apply again.
  7. After you submit your documents, they will be checked to make sure that everything is correct and verify all information. Once all documents have been received, a TCC will be issued.

Apply Online

  1. To apply online for the TCC, visit TAJ’s Website Link. From the homepage at the top right-hand corner of the page, select the banner “Client Login”, or the hyperlink “Login” at the banner to go to the account login page
  2. If you have an existing account, enter your password and click on “Create account” to create one. Fill in the required fields and click “Next” to continue.
  3. The notice will thank you for creating the account and send your password to your email address.
  4. Enter your password, sign in, and then read and accept the provide policy. You will then be directed to the next page. Here you will be asked a password restraint question. After answering the question, click “Save” to be taken to your account’s online service portal.
  5. To complete the registration, select “Manage My eServices Account” to proceed. To verify your registration, you will need to provide your TRN.
  6. Log in to your TAJ account to log in, then go to the eservice portal to choose “Manage My eservices Account”.
  7. Click “More Options”, located to the right side of the “I Want To” panel
  8. Select “Apply to Tax Compliance Certificate” Fill out the form and send
  9. An email reference number will be generated for you and sent to your email account.
  10. Once the tax compliance notification has been processed, RAIS will generate a Tax Compliance Notification advising you of your compliance status.
  11. Bring the original supporting documents to the TAJ office. You will need to complete an interview about the TCC application.
  12. After you submit your documents, they will be checked to make sure that everything is correct and verify all information. Once all documents have been received, a TCC will be issued.

Instructions

  • Interviews are required for all Special and First-time applicants.
  • A TCC is issued to newly registered companies by the Companies Office of Jamaica (COJ). An interview will be required if you apply for TAJ the first time.
  • A TCC issued to clear goods through Customs can be valid for up six months.
  • NIS, NHT, and HEART require clearance letters. These letters are required for all applicants, regardless of whether annual returns have been filed. On presentation of current receipts, you can apply for renewals of TCC.
  • Only original authorization letters will be accepted.
  • The authorization letter for companies should be signed by the Company Director, Company Secretary or other authorized officer. There must be an inscription stating the company stamp.
  • A person acting for another individual (applicant), should submit an authorization letter along with a copy the applicant’s valid identification.
