Its Tesla Model S powertrain uses one or two Tesla-made three phase four-pole AC induction motors, with copper rotor.
There are several available motors, including the performance motor (~450 hp), the ordinary motor (~350 hp), and the “secondary” motor used in dual-motor configurations (~180 hp). The exact specs seem to vary by year and I can’t locate an authoritative source on all motors produced by Tesla.
